Introduction
Three linear solenoids ( PWM)
1. SLT = The line pressure control solenoid maintains consistent pressure for proper transaxle operation.
2. SLS = The shift pressure control solenoid maintains shift feel by controlling the hydraulic pressure for the application, or release, of the friction components. (This is a part of the transaxle adaptive functions.)
3. SLU = The torque converter clutch lock-up pressure control solenoid controls the apply and release pressure of the torque converter clutch, and the low and reverse clutch during low range first gear operation.
Five Shift Solenoids ( On Off )
The function of the five shift solenoids is to apply and release the clutch
packs by locking-up the planetary gear sets in order to achieve different gear
ratios.
• S1 = Reverse, First Shift Solenoid Valve, : NO
• S2 = 2-3, 3-4 Shift Solenoid Valve, : NO
• S3 = 1-2, 2-3 Shift Solenoid Valve, : NC
• S4 = 3-4, 4-5 Shift Solenoid Valve, : NO
• S5 = Reverse Shift Solenoid Valve, : NC (ON) during 2-3 and 3-4
shifts
